Ulrike Schulze-Berge

After passing my university entrance exam, it became clear to me that I wanted to pursue a career in languages. I therefore spent a year as an au-pair in the USA while also completing my studies to become a Europe secretary. After pursuing that career on a part-time basis in a number of different companies, I felt unsatisfied with the limited foreign language portion of the job and decided in 1995 to study translating and interpreting (English and Spanish) at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. During the course of these studies, I completed a 6-month internship at the Fraunhofer institute for integrated circuits in Erlangen.

After completing my studies in January of 2000, I landed a job at Rheinschrift where I also worked as a controller. Of course, I am very happy that I can now concentrate exclusively on translating. What I like most about work is the cooperation and the cohesiveness of the team.
