... I am looking forward to new challenges and working with this amicable, uncomplicated team ...
Growing up near Aachen in the municipality of Vaals on the border between Germany and the Netherlands, I was fortunate that my parents sent me to kindergarten and primary school in the Dutch town of Heerlen. I am grateful to this day that I am now bilingual as a result of my upbringing. And after switching to senior school in Aachen, it soon became clear that I had a talent for, and really enjoyed, foreign languages, so it came as no surprise that I chose English as my main foreign language, adding French and finally Spanish into the equation. After graduating from senior school, I spent six months as an au-pair in the US, before studying communications research (majoring in computer linguistics), American studies and Dutch at the University of Bonn.
