I was born in Rheine/Westphalia and moved to the Rhineland at the age of 7 when my father switched jobs – a move that seemed to have awakened a sense of humour in me. Which makes me the perfect fit for the Rheinschrift Team. Rheine, Rhineland, Rheinschrift – it appears that I have been charmed by the River Rhine! I was especially interested in language even during my school years spent on the margins of the Eifel region. During a student exchange program with the United Kingdom, I first experienced just how exciting it was to communicate in a foreign language and learn about other countries and cultures in the process. After graduating from high school, I moved to Cologne to train as a wholesale and export assistant, as the combination of the commercial and the cosmopolitan really appealed to me.
It soon transpired that I loved working with language and communication and the company I was training with – an IT-sector wholesaler – employed me in its marketing department.
