... For me, translating means having fun with a living
language...
I completed my translation studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, my home of choice. During my studies, I spent four months in France where I studied at the university in the beautiful city of Toulouse. In 1999, I completed my degree. After four years of professional practice, I no longer wanted to just pursue languages in my free time, so I decided to re-orient myself and study translating.
At first, I worked in a large American company as the training coordinator in the personnel department. This experience has been put to good use because I also perform project management tasks in addition to my translation duties.
I have been part of the Rheinschrift team since the summer of 2000. I translate from English and French into German. I am mostly involved with translating e-learning courses, bookkeeping texts, economic texts and general software and medical texts. When translating medical texts, I find that the knowledge I gained during the time I worked as a nurse at an intensive care unit to be of great benefit.
